PURPOSE OF THE TRAINING

A project is the best formula of provision of specific and complex products, whereas construction and architecture are just such areas where we create and produce prototypes in a continuously changing environment. Unfortunately, our efficiency is not the best: most polls indicate that a poor 25% projects are completed on time with satisfactory results for the clients. What is wrong, then?

Most of our defeats have nothing in common with our subject-specific education. On the contrary: we have no control of purposes, limitations, and risks connected with the project. Even the best methodology of project management will bring about no repeatable results if we have no experience and knowledge of the context of the industry. We need something more here.

Training in “Project Management in Architecture and Construction Industry” has been created in order to close the gap between the theory and the practical knowledge of effective methods of providing project deliverables. The students will consequently build up their competencies which will allow them becoming self-sufficient in:

  • Definition of project purpose, scope, and success criteria
  • Building a comprehensible and complete project budget
  • Development of time schedules which integrate business purposes with project risks and outer environment
  • Effective management of communications and data flow in the project
  • Management of relationships in the project team
  • Project result forecasting
  • Project risk management
  • Practical use of up-to-date project management methodologies (Agile Construction, Lean Construction)
  • Adaptation of BIM methodology feasibility to the needs and maturity of a defined project team
